Gin Rummy game rules:

1. Objective: To form sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or streaks (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) while reducing deadlocks (unmatched cards).

2. Setup: A game played with a standard deck of 52 cards, usually with two players.

3. Deal: Each player receives 10 cards.

4. Deadwood Limit: The player's goal is to reduce Deadwood to 10 points or less for knockout.

5. Tap: A player may tap if he has 10 or fewer points of dead wood.

6. Gin: Reaching a hand with no deadwood is called a "Gin" and awards 25-30 points.

7. Big Gin: If a player draws a card with no dead space, he declares "Big Gin" and is awarded 50 points.

8. Combinations: Create groups (e.g. three 7s) or sequences (e.g. plums 5, 6, 7).

9. Discard: With each turn, a player draws a card from the stock or discard pile and discards a card.

10. End of Round: A round ends when a player is knocked down or de-golded, or when the inventory is nearly depleted.

11. Concealed Cut: If the non-knocking player has fewer Deadwood points than the knocking player, they win the concealed cut and are awarded 10 points.

12. Scoring: The winner scores points based on his opponent's remaining deadwood.

13. Dead or alive values: 1 point for trumps, 10 points for suits, and 10 points for numbers.

14. Discard: After knocking, an opponent may add his unpaired cards to the knocker's pile.

15. Winning: The first player to reach a predetermined number of points (e.g. 100) wins.
