Tongits

Tongits is a simple card game with simple rules and is a common entertainment among Filipino family gatherings and friends. Tongits game is full of strategy, this game is usually played by three players and newcomers can start practicing with the online version. Players who play all hands win outright. No one plays with all their hands, and at the end of the game, the player with the lowest hand wins. In some versions, players show a specific combination of cards in their hand, which may trigger an extra bonus or an outright victory.

Tongits game rules:

-Number of players 3
-To win by grouping cards, reducing the number of points in your hand so that it is lower than your opponent's, or playing all of your hand as early as possible.
-Basic points for cards
A: 1 point
2-10: by card counts
J, Q, K: 10 points each
-Start Dealing
Each player is dealt 12 cards, and the dealer gets an extra card (13 total) to start the game first.
-Basic Process
Play or eat a card:
A player may choose a card by drawing from the draw pile, or by choosing one from the previous player's discard.
The player then needs to play a card into the discard pile.
Group cards (Meld):
Grouping cards is the process of creating effective combinations
Players may reveal the cards they have assembled on their turn.
Additional cards (Lay Off):
Players can add their own cards to a group of cards shown by another player (e.g., adding another card to someone's straight).
-End game:
Players can end the game in three ways:
Tongits: win when all hands are played.
Draw: When the draw pile runs out of cards, the points of the remaining cards in each player's hand are compared, and the player with the fewest points wins.
Burn: In some versions, players may declare victory outright through specific rules.

Tongits Strategies and Tips:

-Reasonable grouping of cards: grouping and showing cards as early as possible to minimize the number of unshown points in your hand.
-Focus on your opponent: Watch your opponent's play and reveal strategies to avoid helping your opponent complete the set.
